What about at high flow rates? | | | What about at high flow rates? | | | | | The higher the spiking rate, the more often the source drum must be changed when using scales. The spiking is stopped, a scale reading is taken, the drum is changed, a scale reading is taken, and spiking is resumed and adjusted. Two scales may be used and alternated, but this becomes unmanageable when multiple solutions are spiked, and space is limited. On the other hand, with mass flow meters, a single source drum per pump is used, and it can be refilled as desired without affecting the flow rates at all. At very high spiking rates (like 2,000 lb. /hr.) a single IBC can be used and refilled as necessary. | | |
